Masterclasses For Professional Actors
Auckland Theatre Company offers workshop opportunities for professional actors facilitated by leading industry professionals. Watch this space for 2009 activities.
"Congratulations on taking the ATC Education Unit into a realm for practitioners at all stages of their careers. Workshops like this, targeted for more seasoned artists enable the cultivation of healthy crops of work. We strongly support a company that puts education resources into actors who can then put the resources onto the stage. Everybody wins!"
Jacque Drew & Jeff Szusterman (TIM CARROLL Masterclass 2006)
Internships
Auckland Theatre Company offers internships and secondments for full-time tertiary students in partnership with programmes operated by; The University of Auckland (the Tuakana Arts Programme), UNITEC School of Performing and Screen Arts and Toi Whakaari NZ Drama School.
Emerging artists are also welcome to apply for an internship with the company (subject to availability).
Applicants are matched to specific projects (for example someone interested in stage management would work with our production department) and opportunities are dependent on the company’s schedule and on the background, training or experience of applicants.
There is no set time frame for these internships as they occur on a project by project basis. Auckland Theatre Company doesn’t offer internships to Actors (except through partnerships with Drama Schools –see above). All internships are unpaid.
If you are interested in an internship please:
• Send a full CV
• A recent headshot
• A covering letter telling us why you are interested in an internship with Auckland Theatre Company and in particular what area you would like to focus on with the company.
