What an emotional rollercoaster ride! A captivating plot that weaved its way through my imagination to its zesty finale. A compelling canvas of well cast actors with real situational capsules of scenes that just blew me away. Thank you for the privilege!

This performance was indeed an eye-opener for me. Though it had the typical revenge through seduction narrative to it, the way it was portrayed onstage could only be achieved on a stage.

Great use of space and the shifting chronology. So impressive! There were moments when I had to decide whether to laugh or to gasp in horror.

Guys, this was just an awesome play! How clever the whole storyline was put together, loved the way the scenes flowed in and out of one another. Great use of photography-very contemperary feel.

The waves of intense emotions - what a rollercoaster (great job Robbie)! And great Humour too. (Sorry about the snorting yep that was me....:-) The whole cast was great!

Shame it's all sold out would have come back to share the experience with my hubby...We loved it!

This work showcases Victor Rodger's talent for theatre humour, compassion and forgiveness. Its ability to capture the essence of the Samoan culture reveals a story that all Samoans afakasi's palagi's can relate to and enjoy.

My lovely partner and I enjoyed the show last night. It was a privilege meeting Robbie Magasiva and we even got his autograph!

I'm proud of the work that Victor Rodger has done and look forward to seeing more from this talented playwright.

I would like to encourage any of you who are in Auckland to go and see the current ATC production of My Name is Gary Cooper.

It's an edgy cross-cultural, issues based play set in Samoa and Hollywood and is written by Victor Rodger.

In this production young actors Liesha Ward Knox and Nora Aati give outstanding performances that will inspire others.

‘My Name is Gary Cooper’ was outstanding – without exception the performances by all the actors were fantastic, the story line and production were as well.

I spoke to many people there on the evening and they, like me, raved about the show.

Can you pass on my congratulations and best wishes to all concerned for a true celebration of talent.

Just wanted to let you know that my husband and I thought the show was fantastic!! We have been telling all our friends and family how great it was.

If you see any of the actors that were in it... tell them they were fabulous and that it was such a moving play it made me cry!!

Thoroughly enjoyed last night's performance. The cast took us on a memorable theatrical journey, taking a compelling story and delivering it via the full spectrum of human emotions.

Congratulations on a fine production. A must-see.

Thoroughly enjoyed last night's play, my favourite by far this year. The characters were great and so well portrayed by the actors. Best wishes for the rest of the season.

I thought it was brilliant - funny, sad, great acting, good set, fab costumes. I have been spreading the word at work.

I think I will go again (and not just to see Robbie!) - it was more the script and Jennifer Ward-Lealand and those twins from hell.. and the Samoan prostitute and the music ...

I was surprised and dismayed to read The New Zealand Herald reviewer's mixed and ultimately mean-spirited critique of My Name Is Gary Cooper in Monday's edition.

I enjoyed the play unreservedly.

To my mind, each character's arc was well defined and well delivered: the performances were hilarious, affecting and near-perfect. But I guess one person's pork is another's poison, so we'll just chalk that up to creative differences.

However, I am disappointed that the play's most surprising and powerful story points have been so thoroughly blown by the review.

Love the play, hate the play: that is the critic's right. But to destroy the story surprises for future audiences smacks of unprofessionalism.

There are, I'm sure, many plays that merit being put out of their - and the audience's - misery after opening night, but this entertaining, compelling and multi-layered work is not one of them.

Susan Gibson / Audience

We really enjoyed My Name Is Gary Cooper. It was very thought provoking.
