Since its inception, ATC Literary has developed such Auckland
Theatre Company successes as Tom Scott's THE DAYLIGHT ATHEIST,
Michael Galvin's THE OCEAN STAR, Geoff Chapple's HATCH OR THE
PLIGHT OF THE PENGUINS and Victor Rodger's MY NAME IS GARY
COOPER.
ATC Literary actively nurtures New Zealand playwrights and their
work, seeking out the best and brightest new scripts and putting
them in the hands of dedicated theatre professionals to test their
mettle in rehearsed readings and semi-staged workshop
productions.
The unit organises the increasingly popular monthly play-reading
series and THE NEXT STAGE Festival. ATC Literary thanks the ATC
Patrons for their continued support.

"ATC Literary does invaluable, necessary work which
continues to foster and support New Zealand talent. After a
not-inconsiderable amount of time being stuck in the darkness with
my play My Name is Gary Cooper, the ATC workshop helped me see one
of the most beautiful things a writer can ever hope to see: light
at the end of the tunnel. Fa'afetai lava!"
