David Aston

David Aston is one of New Zealand's most experienced actors and has appeared in numerous national and international feature films, television programmes and theatre productions over the last 40 years. Film credits include The Matrix and Underworld 3 and television appearances include Shortland Street, Duggan Dog’s Breakfast, Street Legal and Gloss. Among his many stage credits are roles in Macbeth, Blood Brothers (Australia – New Zealand Tour), The Phantom of the Opera (Japan Tour), and A Shortcut to Happiness and Enlightenment for ATC. In 2017, he and fellow actor Paul Gittins co-founded Plumb Theatre, which, most recently, staged an acclaimed production of Brian Friels’ Faith Healer and is planning to present an adaptation of Albert Camus’ The Plague in 2022.
