The Topp Twins 60th Birthday Concert

New Zealand’s irrepressible, well-loved twin sisters, Jools and Lynda Topp, invite you to join them in a special performance, one-night-only, to celebrate their 60 years on the planet, 40 years performing and a combined century-plus of comedy, politics, music and mirth.

This concert is a retrospective celebration of the Topp Twins’ career, but also includes new songs and stories with a contemporary relevance. They may be 60, but as that is now the new 40, there’s still plenty of life to be lived and enjoyment to share.

The Topp Twins’ life and work has recently been celebrated with a National Exhibition touring the country – the Wellington opening was attended by none other than two Prime Ministers, with both Jacinda and Helen flanking the sisters, who are now well and truly ensconced as national treasures.

Auckland’s ASB Waterfront Theatre has special significance for the Twins as it returns the performing arts to the waterfront, not far from where the beloved Watershed Theatre once resided. This is where Camp Mother and Camp Leader were born, and where Lynda was the production manager for many years. Back in the 90s it was the creative hub for Auckland’s performing arts with many notable actors, dancers and musicians congregating every weekend.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our birthday at Auckland’s state-of-the-art new theatre, and be performing some of our old songs with new surprises to keep you all on your toes” says Lynda.

Last year the Topp Twins toured heartland NZ and sold-out community theatres with their Heading for the Hills Tour. This show is a rare Auckland appearance for the Topps, so the show is sure to sell-out.
