Auckland Theatre Company (ATC) is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Operations Coordinator to support the day-to-day running of our Balmoral Office — a vibrant hub for artists, staff, and visitors alike.
About the role:
The Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring our Balmoral workspace is welcoming, safe, and efficiently managed. You'll provide administrative, logistical, and practical support, managing spaces and people, and maintaining the high standards of hospitality and safety that define ATC. This full-time, Auckland office-based position involves coordinating our rehearsal studios, office spaces, and special projects, working closely with the Head of Strategy on archiving and reporting and within the Artistic Operations team.
Key responsibilities:
- Be the friendly face at the front desk, welcoming visitors and staff with warmth and manaakitanga.
- Manage all Balmoral spaces including rehearsal rooms, wardrobe, props, and meeting areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well-resourced.
- Facilitate inductions, health & safety briefings, and coordinate building access.
- Oversee building maintenance, liaise with landlords & suppliers, and ensure security & safety protocols are followed.
- Support event management and special projects such as working bees and functions.
- Administer archives and assist with reporting for funders.
- Manage daily office operations: supplies, mail, email enquiries, IT support, and record keeping.
- Lead sustainability initiatives to greening the workspace, aligning with ATC’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a minimum of 3 years' experience in a coordination or administration role, ideally within an arts or community setting.
- Is passionate about the arts, with a friendly, professional manner and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Is highly organised, resilient under pressure, and adept at multitasking.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of cultural diversity and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
