After Murder on the Orient Express smashed every box-office record in the Auckland Theatre Company books, we return with another mystery from Dame Agatha Christie, adapted by the brilliant pen of Ken Ludwig.
In the searing heat of Egypt, a group of curious characters is aboard the steamer Karnak on the River Nile and famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot is among them. Little do they know that this cruise through palms and pyramids will be beset by murder and mayhem.
Poirot will once again be called upon to methodically investigate every passenger to find the killer, unravelling romantic tensions, old rivalries and the influence of a spooky sarcophagus. Everyone has a grudge, something to hide or both.
Returning to lead the cast of 11, beloved actor Cameron Rhodes re-inhabits the role that audiences rushed to see as the moustachioed Poirot. Directed by Eleanor Bishop and designed by Tracy Grant Lord, this lush stage show docks on the ASB Waterfront Theatre stage in 2027.
This New Zealand premiere of a sweeping and cinematic epic is not to be missed.
