Brooklyn. 1949. Willy Loman's lifelong pursuit of the American Dream is brought to an abrupt end when, after 34 years on the road, he is fired from his job as a salesman. Unable to confront the harsh realities of life and ashamed to seem a failure in the eyes of his family, he begins to retreat into a hallucinatory world of sounds and images of a happier past, when he basked in the hero-worship of his boys, Biff and Happy. Looking i=to his sons for a last desperate shot at success, he discovers, with terrifying consequences, that he has built his life on a lie that must ultimately destroy him.
